PSA Activity 1 (Student-Lecturer Ethics)

Peace be upon you.

For today's scriptwriting class, Madam Aishah had given each of us a task which is script for a Public Service Announcement (PSA). So, each one of us were given different topics and mine was Students-Lecturers Ethics.  All praises to Allah, I finally did it. I'm going to post it here for anyone to read and most importantly, for Madam Aishah to check hehe.

Topic: Students – Lecturers Ethics

Treatment or scenario
It is midnight. Aidil is busy doing his assignment alone in his room. He needs to submit the task tomorrow morning at 8 when suddenly his laptop starts lagged and slowly shutting down. Apparently, his laptop is not functioning anymore. He is shocked and clueless. He takes his smartphone and text his lecturer at that moment. He uses short-forms and also gets angry when his lecturer is not replying to him. So, he wants to spam chat to his lecturer. Then, Aidil look up to the screen and starts talking by telling the audiences to not be rude towards the lecturers.

SFX:
Music is playing softly in the background and keyboards typing sound.




SFX:
Gasping. Heartbeats increasing.




SFX:
Keypad typing.




SFX:
Panting.

Background music playing softly.

FULL SHOT//PANNING:
A guy is busy doing his work using a laptop. His eyes is locked on the laptop screen.

MEDIUM CLOSE-UP:
Laptop starts to blink and slowly shutting down.

Guy is sweating and looking surprised. “No! Not now!!”

MEDIUM SHOT:
Guy reaches for his phone and opens chat.

EXTREME CLOSE UP: Phone shows a chatting app, he clicks it and starts typing. “Hello, Miss. I hv to say, I cannot come 2 ur class tmr bcs I hv probs. Plz considerate. Tq. This is urgent.”

MEDIUM SHOT:
Guy waiting anxiously for the lecturer to reply his text. “Oh, come on, reply me!”

Guy becomes angry. “I’m going to spam her!”

Guy turns to look at the screen, smiling.

CLOSE UP:
“Hey friends, that is not the right way to talk to our lecturer. They have their own privacy and we must respect it. Please do not disturb your lecturer outside of working hours and be polite with them because lecturers are humans too. This public service announcement is brought to you by The Cast UiTM Rembau for all students to always be respectful towards our lecturers.”

Tan Sri Jins Shamsudin I grew up watching the late P Ramlee’s movies. Tan Sri Jins Shamsudin had first caught my eyes through his acting as the antagonist in Sergeant Hassan together with P Ramlee. So, I’ve watched several films directed by him and I have tried to break down several elements from the Auteur Theory. In most of his films, I noticed that he always had the same theme such as family bond, love, and sacrifices. For example, in his early creations like his first “newborn”— Bukan Salah Ibu Mengandong (1969). He also always instilled a character with disability such as a character with blindness, broken-legged, cancer patient, emotional-pain, and few more.   Although those characters have disabilities, I think he successfully made a big impact out of all those characters.
